The production concept for Dry Land featured quotes and statistics related to abortion and the plight of those who are pregnant and don't want to be. The original concept called for it to be projected on a screen above the set, but I suggested projecting it on the set itself to make the information inseparable from the world the main characters inhabit and, in some ways, are trapped in. We also overlaid it with a water animation to link the image of water (the main characters are high school swim team members) with the inescapable and upsetting reality they find themselves in.
